EP at World Hydrogen Week 2025: Copenhagen Insights
Copenhagen, Denmark – September 2025
EPConsult Energies joined hundreds of industry professionals, researchers, and policymakers at World Hydrogen Week 2025, one of the world's leading forums dedicated to advancing the global hydrogen economy. The event brought together diverse voices from across the sector to explore the technologies, strategies, and partnerships shaping hydrogen's future.
Representing EPConsult Energies were Managing Director Martin H. Larsen and engineers from our London team, including Maria Ribe and Maria Milagros Osuna, who both participated in the Rising Stars Programme—an initiative recognising emerging talent shaping the future of the energy sector.
A week of ideas, innovation, and collaboration
Over five days, the conference delivered a rich programme of technical sessions, exhibitions, and interactive discussions covering the entire hydrogen value chain—from production and storage to infrastructure, safety, and financing.
"It was great to meet hydrogen industry companies and review the important aspects of operational flexibility and production availability, which are crucial for hydrogen projects to be truly attractive," said Martin H. Larsen, Managing Director of EPConsult Energies.
For Maria Ribe, the event offered an inspiring blend of technical depth and collaboration. She attended sessions on Methane Pyrolysis and Markets for Carbon, Hydrogen Storage and Infrastructure: Scaling Up Safely, and Financing the Hydrogen Economy. "The discussions provided valuable perspectives on the challenges and innovations shaping the industry," she noted.
Fellow engineer Maria Milagros Osuna highlighted the breadth of topics explored during the week—from white/geological hydrogen and e-methanol production to financial and infrastructure readiness. "It was an insightful experience that strengthened our view of how hydrogen is evolving globally, and how it connects exploration, production, transportation, and storage," she said.
The future of hydrogen depends on integration and reliability
World Hydrogen Week underlined a crucial message: achieving commercial success for hydrogen requires both technological innovation and operational reliability. From electrolyser cost optimisation and infrastructure scalability to safety assurance and project financing, the forum reinforced that building investor confidence depends on robust safety management, asset integrity, and operational excellence—areas where EPConsult Energies has decades of expertise.
