It’s fascinating to note that EPConsult Energies (EP), whose UK office is located in Vauxhall at 27-29 Vauxhall Grove, London SW8 1SY, interacts with Vauxhall Motors in professional capacities. The car manufacturer was established in 1857 by Scottish marine engineer Alexander Wilson at 90–92 Wandsworth Road, Vauxhall, London, initially under the name Alex Wilson and Company.
Explorative Mission at Stellantis Site
Engineers from EP recently visited the Stellantis manufacturing facility that produces the Vauxhall Vivaro. Joining forces with our partner Acciona Energia, this mission marked an important step in our ongoing efforts to implement sustainable, low-carbon energy solutions across key industry sectors.
The primary objective was to evaluate the feasibility of geothermal energy and other green technologies that could potentially reduce or replace gas usage at the factory. By verifying previous data and conducting further analysis, the team gained valuable insights into the benefits, challenges, and overall suitability of renewable options like geothermal to meet the site's energy demands.
As a subcontractor for Acciona Energia, EP conducts a comprehensive feasibility study for Stellantis. The results will shed light on utilising shallow geothermal energy, air source heat pumps, and heat recovery systems to help transition IBC Vehicles Limited to more sustainable operations.
This initiative reflects EP's commitment to driving innovation in engineering for a greener future. The knowledge gained during this exploratory visit is paving the way to develop pioneering solutions that align with our environmental conservation goals.
