Counting down to the EPConsult Energies charity hike for Chamos
On Thursday 8 October 2026, the EPConsult Energies team will lace up their boots and take on one of England's most spectacular coastal walks, raising vital funds for children in Venezuela through the charity Chamos.
A walk along the Jurassic Coast
The team's route follows the dramatic Dorset coastline, setting off from Lulworth Cove, passing the iconic limestone arch of Durdle Door and continuing on to Ringstead Bay. It is a challenging stretch of rolling clifftops and steep climbs, but every step will be taken with a clear purpose: helping children whose lives have been turned upside down.
To make every contribution go further, EPConsult Energies will match all funds raised, pound for pound. Every donation made to the team's page will be doubled.
Why Chamos, and why now
On 24 June 2026, a double earthquake struck north-west Venezuela. Official figures report 6,125 people killed, 16,740 injured and 17,907 left homeless. Thousands of children are now living in shelters, without school, routine or access to basic services.
Chamos responded immediately, providing drinking water, medical equipment, food, infant formula and support for rescue teams. The charity is now moving into Construyo con Chamos ("I Build with Chamos"), its medium and long-term reconstruction programme for families displaced by the disaster.
What your donation helps to build
Construyo con Chamos is made up of five programmes, delivered in shelters and communities through a scalable model:
- Construyo Jugando (Building by Playing): recreation and psychosocial support for displaced children, run in partnership with ASOVENCAMP. Around $26 supports one child for a week, and $1,500 supports an entire shelter for a week.
- Construyo Rehabilitando (Building by Rehabilitating): physical therapy, wheelchairs and psychological support for children and young people with amputations or crush injuries, delivered with FundaProcura, at an approximate cost of $1,350 per child.
- Construyo Gota a Gota (Building Drop by Drop): clean water through LifeStraw community and family filters, water tanks and hygiene kits. A single high-capacity water filter costs $400.
- Construyo Nutriendo (Building by Nourishing): nutritional recovery for infants, children and breastfeeding mothers at risk of malnutrition, including weekly medical consultations. Just $23 funds a week of treatment for a malnourished infant.
- Construyo Sanando (Building by Healing): medical and dental care for displaced families in Camurí Grande and Chuspa, in collaboration with Somos Comunidad and Proyecto Mayu.
As Chamos puts it, every donation gives a child the chance to play, heal, recover and dream again.
About Chamos
Chamos was founded in the United Kingdom in 2007 to support projects in Venezuela that strengthen local partners and help them continue their work. Its programmes focus on three core areas:
- Health and nutrition: protecting every child's right to health and care.
- Educational opportunities: closing the education gap both inside and outside the classroom.
- Water and sanitation: installing purification systems, improving water infrastructure and training school communities to conserve water as a shared resource.
In 2020, Chamos expanded to Spain as the Delegación de la Fundación Chamos. Although Chamos UK and its Spanish delegation are separate legal entities, they operate as one, with a single global operations team managing programmes consistently and efficiently across both.
